APEC CEO Summit 2013

  1. What is APEC CEO Summit 2013?
    • APEC CEO Summit 2013 is the premier business event in the Asia Pacific region. This year’s summit explores centers on the theme “Towards Resilience and Growth: Reshaping Priorities for Global Economy”. The Summit provides opportunities for top business leaders in the Asia-Pacific area to engage in discussions with APEC Leaders, innovative thinkers, and policy makers.
  2. What is ABAC?
    • The APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) was established in November 1995 by APEC Economic Leaders in the realization that APEC policies affect a wide range of business issues. ABAC is responsible for identifying issues and providing advice on certain business sector priorities and perspectives in specific areas of cooperation, for more effective policy making and stronger economic ties within the Asia Pacific region. ABAC is comprised of private sector representatives from each APEC member economy that have been selected by their respective leaders, with a maximum of three representatives per economy.
  3. What is the difference between APEC and APEC CEO Summit 2013?
    • APEC is a group of 21 member economies whose goal is to support sustainable economic growth and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region. APEC CEO Summit 2013 is an event that brings together private sector representation towards supporting APEC’s goals.
  4. Why is the term ‘economy’ used instead of ‘country’?
    • The word ‘economy’ is used to describe APEC members as the APEC cooperative process is predominantly concerned with trade and economic issues, with members primarily engaging with one another as economic entities rather than focusing on political processes.


  1. Who is eligible to register?
    • The APEC CEO Summit 2013 is an invitation only event. Only delegates who have been invited are eligible to register.
  2. How can I get an invitation?
    • Each ABAC economy member has submitted a list of eligible invitees to the Host Committee. If your name is not on this list, you can still request an invitation through the form provided on the website registration menu. Please note that invitations will be issued at the discretion of the Host Committee.
  3. What materials are needed for registration?
    • You will need your passport details and a scanned / soft copy of your current passport photograph, image size not to exceed 500kb.
  4. What is meant by the term ‘Delegate’?
    • A Delegate is a person who is officially invited by APEC CEO Summit 2013 committee to attend the Summit.
  5. What is a ‘Staffer’?
    • A Staffer is a businessperson, colleague, or assistant who will support the Delegate. Staffers will have access to all summit venues except the plenary hall, which is limited to Delegates only. Each Delegate may bring a maximum of two (2) Staffers.
  6. What is an ‘Accompanying Person’?
    • An Accompanying Person is a spouse, partner, or family member who is not accompanying the Delegate in an official capacity as a Staffer, but will attend social functions, dinners, and recreational programs.
  7. In terms of registration, what is the difference between the term ‘economies’ and ‘country of origin’?
    • In terms of registration, ‘economy’ is where the headquarters of the company is located while ‘country of origin’ is where the delegate is coming from, or where the representative office of the delegate is located.
  8. Can someone else input the registration data for me?
    • Official APEC CEO Summit 2013 invites will be sent to directly to selected candidates only. The invitation will contain a URL link which will trigger a unique for each Delegate / Staffer. If you wish someone else to input the registration data input for you, you must share your registration passcode with that particular person. Please be careful in sharing your credentials, as it will contain your personal data.
  9. Can I register on the spot during APEC CEO Summit 2013?
    • No, you must register beforehand through our online system.

Registration Passcode

  1. What is the Registration Passcode?
    • A Registration Passcode consisting of a unique combination of letters and numbers will be created and sent to each Delegate, enabling the user to login to our registration system.. Each Delegate will receive a unique passcode. We strongly recommend that you change the Passcode upon your first successful log-in to the system.
  2. What if I forget my Registration Passcode?
    • Please reference the invitation that was sent to your email, which contains a Registration Link together with your unique Passcode. If you cannot find your emailed invitation, please email registration@abacindonesia.org with “Reset Password” as the subject
  3. If my Registration Passcode has expired, can I renew it?
    • Yes, if your seat has not been taken we can revalidate your registration pass code by sending you a new invitation. Please send us an email to registration@abacindonesia.org to request a new invitation.
  4. Can my Registration Passcode be transferred to someone else?
    • Each Registration Passcode is linked to a unique data account and cannot therefore be transferred to anyone other than the specified Delegate or Staffer.
  5. What if the Registration Passcode is invalid when I activate my registration account?
    • Please send your Registration Passcode and email invite with a description of the problem to registration@abacindonesia.org

Registration Fee

  1. How much is the registration fee for a Delegate, Staffer or Accompanying Person?
    • Delegate: IDR 38.000.000
    • Staffer: IDR 10.000.000
    • Accompanying Person: IDR 8.000.000
  2. What do I get for paying the Registration Fee?
    • For Delegates:
      • Access to the summit venue, plenary sessions, and official documentation including program booklet and list of participants.
      • Access to all social events including receptions and networking sessions.
    • For Staffers:
      • Access to the summit venue and viewing rooms, excluding the plenary hall.
      • Access to social events including receptions and networking sessions.
    • For Accompanying Persons:
      • Access to evening social events including receptions.
      • Participation in the Accompanying Persons program.
  3. Can I invite someone else, for example my partner, as a Delegate?
    • You cannot directly invite other people to become APEC CEO Summit 2013 Delegates, but you may nominate that person as an APEC CEO Summit 2013 delegate using the expression of interest form provided on the website. The APEC CEO Summit 2013 committee will then invite him/her directly if your suggestion is approved.
  4. Can I invite my staff as my Staffer(s)?
    • Yes, you may.
  5. How many people may I invite as my Staffers?
    • The maximum is two (2) staffers per delegate.
  6. Can I invite someone to accompany me who is not designated as a Staffer?
    • Yes, we call him/her Accompanying Persons; please refer to Accompanying Person description above.
  7. How many Accompanying Persons can I invite?
    • There is no limitation on the number of Accompanying Persons that you may invite to APEC CEO Summit 2013.
  8. How can I pay the Registration Fee?
    • You can pay by Visa or MasterCard, or via wire transfer to:

  9. Can I as a Delegate pay for my Staffer(s)?
    • If payment is made through Wire Transfer, you may pay for your Staffer. But payments made by credit cards can only be credited to the credit card owner’s name, thus your Staffer(s) would need to pay for himself/herself.
  10. Can I as a Delegate or Staffer pay for my Accompanying Person(s)?
    • Yes, you can. Your total registration fee and accompanying fees will be shown in the total fees area.
  11. Can I pay for my Accompanying Person(s) using different Credit Card or payment method?
    • Yes you can, but you must first pay your fee before you register your accompanying person.
  12. Can an official invoice be issued to me before I complete my payment?
    • Yes, you can print or save an official invoice for your registration fee by clicking the link located on the upper right of your fees chart.
  13. Can the Registration Fee and hotel costs be combined under one invoice?
    • No, they cannot. The APEC CEO Summit will only issue a Registration Fee invoice. The Hotel Invoice will be issued directly by the hotel. Please contact your chosen hotel directly.
  14. Will I get an official receipt from APEC CEO Summit 2013 after completing my payment?
    • You can print or save the official APEC CEO Summit 2013 fee receipt by clicking the link provided on the summary.
  15. If I cancel, can I get a refund or transfer my Invitation to someone else?
    • Unfortunately we will not be able to refund your payment or transfer your invite to another person.


  1. What are the official hotels for APEC CEO Summit 2013?
    • Ten hotels have been designated as official hotels in Bali. They are the Amanusa, Ayana, Conrad Hotel, Laguna Hotel, Marriott Courtyard, Melia Nusa Dua, Nikko Hotel, Rimba, St. Regis, and The Mulia.
  2. What do I get if I book my stay at one of the APEC CEO Summit 2013 official hotels?
    • You will have access to:
      • Free shuttle services
      • Updates and easy access to APEC CEO Summit 2013 information
      • Special Hotel Package Rates during APEC CEO Summit 2013.
  3. Why do the official hotels require that I book for a certain period?
    • Demand for accommodation is extremely high during APEC Week, especially in Nusa Dua area/complex. Consequently the official hotels require a lengthy minimum stay during the period.
  4. Can I arrange my own accommodations directly at the APEC CEO Summit 2013 Official Hotels (i.e. not via APEC CEO Summit 2013 registration system)?
    • Yes you can, but it is not advisable due to the very high hotel occupancy rate inside Nusa Dua Area and its surroundings. You will also forfeit the package rate given by the official hotels to APEC CEO Summit 2013 participants.
  5. Can I stay outside the APEC CEO Summit 2013 Official Hotels?
    • Yes, you can. Please note that you will not have access to the benefits that have been arranged in the APEC CEO Summit 2013’s official hotels.
  6. How do I pay for my Hotel/Accommodation via APEC CEO Summit 2013 registration system?
    • The payment method will vary depending on the hotel you choose. In general however, major credit cards such as Visa and MasterCard are acceptable as is payment through bank wire transfer. The payment you made will be channeled directly to the hotel that you have chosen after you finish booking and paying in the APEC CEO Summit 2013 Registration System.
  7. When will I receive an official invoice for my Hotel/Accomodations?
    • Although payment to your hotel will be transferred through the APEC CEO Summit 2013 Registration System, only the hotel can provide you with an official invoice for hotel costs. You can ask your hotel to provide you with an official receipt.
  8. Is there a time limit for payment after making my hotel booking in the APEC CEO Summit 2013 registration system?
    • Due to extremely high demand, APEC CEO Summit 2013 registrants have a 48-hour window to make payment to the hotel. Failure to pay will mean that the booking will be automatically released.
  9. Can I get the Registration Fee and Hotel Cost put on one invoice?
    • No, you cannot. APEC CEO Summit will only issue an invoice for the Registration Fee invoice. Invoices for hotel costs will be issued directly by the hotel in question. Please contact your chosen hotel directly to arrange this.
  10. How many rooms at APEC CEO Summit 2013 official hotels am I allowed to book?
    • At the moment, there is no limitation on room bookings at APEC CEO Summit 2013 official hotels.


  1. Can I use a private jet to fly into Bali, Indonesia?
    • Yes. However, all private aircraft coming to Indonesia must obtain Landing Permits before departure to Indonesia. At least 5 working days are required to obtain a Landing Permits during normal times, and it is expected that this will take longer during APEC Week, hence we strongly advise you to arrange the Landing Permits as soon as possible.
  2. Is pickup service available at the airport?
    • Yes, a shuttle service has been arranged from Ngurah Rai International Airport to the Registration Center.
  3. Is hotel transfer service available?
    • Yes, a shuttle service will be available from the Registration Center to all APEC CEO Summit 2013 official hotels.
  4. Will anybody meet me upon my arrival at the Bali’s airport?
    • APEC CEO Summit Committee has arranged greeters to assist you.
  5. How can I get to the APEC CEO Summit 2013 Venue from my hotel and vice versa?
    • A free shuttle service has been arranged that will run from APEC CEO Summit 2013 official hotels to the APEC CEO Summit 2013 Venue.
  6. Will the shuttle service run to hotels outside the APEC CEO Summit 2013 Official Hotels?
    • No, only the shuttles will only service official hotels.
  7. Can I arrange my own transportation during my stay in Bali, Indonesia?
    • You may arrange your own transportation, but it is not recommended as the Nusa Dua (BTDC) will be completely secured. A very limited number of vehicles will be allowed in and extensive screening of vehicles will be carried out.
  8. What if I do not use air transport to get to Bali, Indonesia?
    • Then you are strongly advised to register at the APEC CEO Summit 2013 Registration Center before proceeding to your hotel or the Nusa Dua Area.

  2. Can I ask my Staffer to collect my Badge?
    • Yes, but Staffer must be able to provide a copy of the Delegate’s passport as well as a copy of his/her Registration Letter.
  3. Can I ask another person who is not my Staffer to collect my Badge?
    • No, for security reasons the Badge may only be given to the Delegate or his/her official Staffer.

Immigration Requirements

    • Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival and you must have a valid return ticket.
    • Your passport must have at least 2 blank pages left.

      • Yes, you can. You may request a Visa Support Letter through the online registration system.
    • What should I do to get an official invitation letter from APEC CEO Summit Committee?
      • Please select “YES” under Visa Support Letter in your online registration.
